Last night I had my boys write thank-you notes to their grandparents for our family vacation to Virginia Beach. Parker started writing his and spelled grandpa without the “d”, so he asked if he could start over. I gave him another thank you card and he started a second time. He messed up something on the second one and so he asked if he could write his in pencil. I told him sure, so he grabbed a pencil and started writing his a third time. The third time was the charm and he finished without any problems.
A couple hours later I was in my bedroom getting ready for bed and in walks Parker and he starts talking to me. Here is how our conversation went . . . .
Parker: Mom, I think I figured out why I’m dumb.
Me: You’re not dumb.
Parker: Uh huh, I didn’t even know how to spell grandpa.
Me: That doesn’t mean you’re dumb. So tell me, what did you figure out about why you think you’re dumb.
Parker: Because I’m blond.
I’m laughing and don’t even know what to say to that. My husband’s response to Parker is: “Well then I guess it’s a good thing you have some dark hairs growing in.”
Seriously, where did this kid come from? He makes me laugh every day.
P.S. Virginia Beach is a great place for a vacation. We had a blast! Here is a picture of my cute/silly boys from our beach trip
