Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (, softened)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • Cinnamon/sugar mixture:
  • 2/3 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Spray 2 loaf pans (9 x 5) with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Cream together butter, 2 cups of sugar, and eggs. Add buttermilk, flour, and baking soda. Divide 1/2 of batter between the two greased loaf pans.
  3. Mix in separate bowl the 2/3 c sugar and cinnamon. Divide 3/4 of the cinnamon mixture on top of batter in each pan. Add remaining batter to pans; sprinkle with last of cinnamon topping. Swirl with a knife.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool in pan for about 15 minutes before removing from pan.
