This Doritos Dip is loaded with avocados, tomatoes, corn, and cottage cheese and it absolutely amazing! It is the perfect flavorful dip to compliment nacho cheese Doritos!
I posted this Doritos Dip over eight years ago so I’m sure so many of you don’t even know this recipe exists in my archives. So I’m bringing it back to the spotlight today with some updated photos and a huge plug for you to make it ASAP. This Doritos Dip is amazing!
The first time I made this over eight years ago, I took it to a monthly get together with some friends and they absolutely loved it! That same group of friends devoured it when I took it again just a few months ago. It’s a little addicting and you might want to eat the entire bowl.
Now if you’re not a fan of cottage cheese, you might not like this dip, but you should at least give it a try. You might just change your mind. Because I mean Doritos and dip . . .

What kind of Doritos should I dip?
We have always eaten this with regular Nacho Doritos, but I am sure it would be equally delicious with Cool Ranch, Salsa Verde, Spicy Nacho, etc. or any flavor that is your favorite. If you’re not a fan of Doritos, go ahead and use regular tortilla chips, pita chips, potato chips or even veggies if you’re wanting to be a little healthier. (Also, I’ve eaten this straight from the bowl with a fork and it’s a winner!).
It really is healthy. . . cottage cheese, tomatoes, avocados. If only dipping Doritos into this dip didn’t change the healthy factor of it (lol)!

The first time I made this I sent a little down to my friend for her to taste. She called me the next day to get the recipe because she was going to make it that night to eat with their dinner.
I’m telling you you’ve got to give this one a try. If for any other reason than just and excuse to eat Doritos.
Can I make this ahead of time?
Yes you can. It’s good to make it an hour or two ahead and let it get good and cold and the flavors meld. But if you’re wanting to make it several hours or even a day ahead, I would hold off on adding the avocado until an hour or two before you’re ready to serve it.
With Summer BBQs and picnics just around the corner, this dip is going to be the perfect thing for you to start making and taking to those fun get togethers.
This stuff is absolutely delicious!

Hey Jessica, I’m so happy to hear you made and loved this dip. I agree, it’s a keeper! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
Do you have any nutritional values for this. It looks amazing.
Hi Debi! I don’t provide nutritional information, but there are plenty of websites that you can past the recipe into and they will provide that info.
I was wondering if anyone has tried running the cottage cheese thru a blender 2 make it smoother? I have some people who wouldn’t even try it if I mentioned the cottage cheese. My Mom made ranch dip with cottage cheese instead of sour cream and it was great!
I haven’t tried the dip yet, but I thought I’d throw it out there that they do make whipped cottage cheese now. Maybe that would be more appealing? You should be able to find it at any large grocery store.
Could u substitute another cheese for cottage cheese?
Hi Kim, this is basically cottage cheese dip, so I’m not sure what a good substitute would be. Sorry!
