These muffins are low in sugar and packed with whole grains. They’re pretty simple and straightforward to make. They’re not overly sweet and seriously delicious! If you want them a little sweeter, feel free to add more brown sugar, maybe an extra tablespoon or two.
If your mornings seem to be hectic, these muffins are the perfect grab-and-go breakfast for your kiddos. I highly suggest making a double batch and freezing them so you have some on hand.
These are delicious on their own, but we also love to spread some butter and honey or jam on them.
Line-up of ingredients:
- old fashioned oats
- brown sugar
- baking soda
- baking powder
- whole wheat flour
- vegetable or canola oil
Storage and Freezing Instructions:
- To Store: Leftover muffins can be kept at room temperature, in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- To Freeze: Allow the muffins to cool completely and then place in a freezer safe bag and freeze for up to 3 months. Defrost them overnight in the fridge or at room temperature for a few hours before eating.
These simple oatmeal muffins are delicious as is, but feel free to add your favorite mix-ins like chocolate chips, chopped dried fruit, nuts or even blueberries.Print
