Wow, it seems like a hot minute since I’ve done a weekly menu plan. Hopefully during the 12 Days of Sugar, you pulled up previous menus or scrolled through my archives for dinner ideas.
Today I’m going to do things little differently and share some of my favorite holiday breakfast and dinner ideas. For my family, our big dinner is Christmas Eve with my husband’s family and Christmas morning is a big breakfast with my family at my parent’s house.
We all knew the holidays were going to look different this year, which is so sad. My mother-in-law isn’t doing her big dinner this year, so it looks like I’ll be cooking Christmas Eve Dinner. Thankfully my mom is still doing breakfast Christmas morning. Don’t worry, we will be careful. If someone is sick or know they’ve been exposed, they’ll stay home. We will have masks, hand sanitizer and be smart about things. We all got together for Thanksgiving, and things were good. After losing my sister, we just need and want to be together.♡
Anyway, I hope your holidays can have a little bit of normalcy . . . we all need it.
I don’t want to overwhelm you with options, so I’m going to keep the list short and sweet (BTW, super hard for me to do!). I’m sharing some of my favorites that I’ve used many times for holiday dinners and always gotten rave reviews. I’m also going to share a few that I haven’t highlighted in a long time that you may have never seen. . . we love them ALL!
Have a great weekend and stay safe!

High altitude adjustments for Kentucky Butter Cake? Please? Before Christmas?
Thanks!!!!
Hi Jo! I’m not sure where you live or what you consider high altitude. I live in Utah, which is considered high altitude and I bake this cake just as the recipe states and it turns out every single time. Here is a link that might help. Happy holidays!

All looks delicious Jodi. II am making lasagna for xmas eve. That is our big celebration with my brother’s family. But too many kids coming from all over and big cities, so we are staying home. My kids got tested when they came home so it will just be the four of us and that’s ok. I just couldn’t deal with the masks for the entire evening at my brother’s house and it was all too much for me. I hope you have a wonderful, safe holiday with your family. Enjoy and thanks for all you do here. It is such a pleasant escape for me to visit your blog and read all about cooking and recipes and have some normalcy. Love it so much. You have all the best recipes.
Hi Teresa! Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I hope you have the best time with your family. Things are definitely going to be different this year. I can’t wait for life to be normal again (I hope it is!). I have to thank you for always leaving me the kindest comments. Honestly, some days I am ready to throw in the towel, but then I read comments like yours and they remind me that at least some people find joy in my blog and that makes it worth all the work. You are the sweetest and if we ever were to meet up in person, I would give you the biggest hug ever, Covid or no Covid (lol!). Happy holidays!❤️
