I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and thank you for following this little old blog of mine.
This year has been a rough one for all of us and I am not the least bit sad to say good bye to 2020. I don’t know how much better 2021 will be, but I am hoping and praying that things will start to get better.
I had to speak in church last Sunday (lucky me!) and I shared with our ward how hard 2020 has been for me to find joy. I know so many people have seen more good than sadness come from this pandemic, but I haven’t. I have seen and felt more sadness than joy and more heartache than happiness from this pandemic. After pouring my heart out, I talked about how we still can find joy in the midst of our trials and struggles.
Our Prophet, President Russell M. Nelson said “the joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives. When the focus of our lives is Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening—or not happening—in our lives. Joy comes from and because of Him. He is the source of all joy.”
I am so thankful that through Jesus Christ we can all find hope, peace and joy. He brings peace to outweigh all the pain and sorrow. I am thankful for this time of year that reminds me that He came and because of Him, we can feel joy and peace even in challenging times.
The song Peace in Christ is is one of my favorites. If you have a chance, please listen to it.
I am going to take a little time off, but I’ll be back with some great new recipes. Thanks again for following along. Stay safe and enjoy your holidays.❤️
