Millennium Toffee Bars

  • Author:

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (, divided)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 3/4 cups toffee bits (, divided)

  1. Grease a 9×13 glass pan.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix together flour, butter, and brown sugar.  Add eggs and mix well.  Add 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips and the nuts.  Reserve 1 1/2 cups of this mixture.
  3. Press remaining mixture into the bottom of the pan.  Bake for 8 minutes
  4. Remove from oven and pour the sweetened condensed milk over the mixture.  Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of the toffee bits, the reserved mixture and 1/2 cup chocolate chips.  Return to the oven and bake for 12-14 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and sprinkle with the remaining toffee bits.
  6. Cool completely before cutting, or just eat it warm right from the pan with a spoon (*I highly recommend you try a few bites this way!)
