Peanut Butter Texas Sheet Cake

Ingredients

Cake:

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Frosting:

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 3 3/4 cups cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

Cake:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 15x10x1 jelly roll pan.
  2. In a large saucepan, bring the peanut butter, butter and water to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, beaten eggs, sour cream and extract. Add flour, salt and baking soda, stir until well combined.
  3. Pour into a prepared pan. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until golden brown.

Frosting:

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring peanut butter, butter and milk to a low boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, vanilla and pinch of salt. Mix until smooth. Pour over warm cake and carefully spread.
