These Perfect Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies are just that . . . absolutely perfect! Soft and chewy on the inside, crispy on the edges and loaded with chocolate chips throughout.

Units Scale
  • 2/3 cup shortening (I use butter flavored)
  • 2/3 cup butter, softened (I prefer salted)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips (or half milk half semisweet)

  1. In a large bowl, cream shortening, butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
  3. Add flour, baking soda and salt,  mix well. Add chocolate chips and mix on low just until chocolate chips are combined.
  4. Use a ¼ cup measuring cup to scoop spoonfuls of dough and place dough balls on a small cookie sheet or plate. Cover and chill for at least an hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°.
  6. Place dough balls 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake 13-15 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Let your cookies cool on the cookie sheets for 5 minutes before removing to cooling racks.
