If you love takeout-style meals but want something easier (and better) made at home, this Slow Cooker Beef and Broccoli is about to become a favorite. Tender slices of beef simmer low and slow in a savory, slightly sweet sauce. It’s delicious!

This slow cooker beef and broccoli is one of those simple and delicious slow cooker meals that I have fallen in love with. It’s comforting, flavorful, and unbelievably easy which makes it perfect for hectic weeknights or when you’re just feeling lazy. Tender strips of beef slow cooked in a savory, slightly sweet sauce and then just before serving, fresh broccoli is stirred in, making this a complete, crave-worthy dinner with almost no effort.
If you don’t believe me when I tell you this is delicious, Parker went back for seconds. . . that should tell you how yummy this is.

- Beef: I used sirloin steak, but round or flank steak and even beef chuck roast are all good options. Just be sure to cut against the grain when cutting the steak to make it more tender.
- Broccoli: While fresh broccoli tastes best, you can use frozen broccoli. I think I love the broccoli as much if not more than the steak, so I tend to add more broccoli than called for.
- Sauce: Beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil and minced garlic make up the delicious sauce used to pour over the steak.
- Cornstarch mixture: This will help thicken the sauce once added to the slow cooker at the end.
Serve slow cooker beef and broccoli over:
- Steamed white or brown rice
- Jasmine or basmati rice
- Cauliflower rice for a lighter option
- Noodles for a fun twist
You can finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds or sliced green onions for extra flavor and a pop of color.
A few helpful tips:
- Slice the beef against the grain for the most tender texture.
- Don’t add the broccoli too early—it can get mushy. It only needs about 20 to 30 minutes.
- If you want a little heat add red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.
- If you want it super saucey, double the sauce ingredients.
If you love it from takeout, this homemade version is just as good, if not better!
This recipe is perfect for busy weeknights when you want something comforting but still fresh and homemade. Just toss everything into the slow cooker, let it do the work, and come back to a meal that smells incredible and tastes even better.

This might become one of those recipes you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again. Hope you enjoy it!
