With just four simple ingredients, these Swiss Cheese Hash Browns are a simple side dish and are absolutely to die for! Completely unhealthy, but oh so good! It’s love at first bite!
You guys! These Swiss cheese hash browns might just be the BEST (and most unhealthy😂) side dish I have ever eaten!
If you sometimes agonize over what to make for a side dish, you don’t need to stress any more.
These may not look like anything special or appetizing, but I promise you these hash browns are phenomenal! Swiss cheese, butter and whipping cream. . . how could these not be amazing?!
This recipe isn’t fancy or even one bit complicated, but you do need to plan ahead because they need to be refrigerated overnight before baking them. Pop them in the oven the next day and let them bake for an hour and you will have the most delicious, buttery, creamy, greasy, cheesy hash browns you’ve ever eaten.
Four simple ingredients:
- Shredded frozen hash browns
- Whipping cream
- Swiss cheese
These are a true belly pleaser! They’re a great compliment to almost any dish and will be loved by all!
I found this recipe in that same old cookbook I mentioned in this post. I feel like I struck gold with that cookbook! Everything I have made from it is fantastic!
Maybe I love these so much because I absolutely LOVE Swiss cheese! When I was in college my girlfriends and I were house sitting for lady and we could come home from classes and cook us a potato in the microwave and then melt swiss cheese on top of it! YUM!
After these potatoes bake, the Swiss cheese on top gets gooey and crunchy and it’s literally heaven!
I’m warning you there may be telling fork fights over these potatoes! The hash browns marry so well with the creamy Swiss cheese. The crunchy crust along the top and edges has a subtle nutty flavor from the Swiss cheese. But then when you cut into the soft and creamy center . . . WHOA it’s instant love!
Growing up my mom made a shredded potato side dish that my siblings and I all loved! They weren’t anything fancy, just simply freshly shredded potatoes seasoned with salt & pepper with whipping cream poured over the top and baked. I do love those potatoes of my mom’s, but I think I love even more these Swiss cheese hash browns.
These are a game changer when it comes to side dishes! You have to give these a try!Print
