MY WEEKLY MENU PLANS ARE A COLLECTION OF DELICIOUS DINNER RECIPES, SIDE DISHES AND A FEW DESSERTS THAT WILL HOPEFULLY OFFER A LITTLE DINNER INSPIRATION AND HELP MAKE YOUR WEEK A LITTLE SMOOTHER ONE RECIPE AT A TIME.
Have you ever been so excited to finally be able to taste something and then been extremely disappointed and heartbroken that it wasn’t that great? Well that was me yesterday.
I have been dying to taste the cookies from Levain Bakery in New York. Unfortunately the one time I’ve been to New York, I didn’t even know the place existed. I’ve heard rave reviews about their cookies, been told the line is out the door, down the sidewalk and wraps around the building. But rumor has it they’re totally worth the long wait time.
My dream finally came true yesterday when my husband got home from New York and surprised me with four of their cookies. He’d gotten up at 5:30 yesterday morning and walked to Levain Bakery before he had to leave for the airport. Seriously, he’s the best!
I was beyond excited to finally get the chance to taste them. Obviously the first one I tasted was their Chocolate Chip, because you all know how I feel about chocolate chip cookies. I took a HUGE bite and let out an audible “bleh!” I had forgotten they put walnuts in their chocolate chip cookies . . .uhg! First off, I’m not a huge fan of nuts in cookies, and second, I’m really not a fan walnuts! They give me cankers and I just don’t think they’re good. If the cookies would have had pecans in them I actually think I would have been ok with that. . . please, just not walnuts!! Seriously so, so disappointed in them! (Funny side note: my father-in-law has a walnut tree and is always trying to give me walnuts even though I’ve told him hundreds of times I don’t like them😂.)
Anyway, the other three he brought back were oatmeal raisin, chocolate peanut butter chip and chocolate chocolate chip. I loved all three, even the oatmeal raisin because the raisins were chewy and not mushy. Those all get a thumbs up.
Has anyone else tried their Chocolate Chip Walnut? Were you a fan of them? I’d love to know.
Anyway, it’s time for another Weekly Menu Plan. I hope these menu plans are helpful and make your life a little easier. Remember, you don’t have to follow them exactly (honestly, I don’t always), feel free to combine previous menu plans, or swap something out for one of your favorites.
The Tomato Basil Parmesan Soup is amazing and I can’t wait to make it. And the S’mores Chocolate Chip Cookies are the bomb!
