MY WEEKLY MENU PLANS ARE A COLLECTION OF DELICIOUS DINNER RECIPES, SIDE DISHES AND A FEW DESSERTS THAT WILL HOPEFULLY OFFER A LITTLE DINNER INSPIRATION AND HELP MAKE YOUR WEEK A LITTLE SMOOTHER ONE RECIPE AT A TIME.
You guys, a bird build her nest in the wreath on my front door. I didn’t even notice it until my husband said something about it a week or so ago. Now every time we pull into our driveway, walk up to our front door, or even walk past our front door when we’re inside our house, that little momma bird quickly flies away, but always comes back to her nest.
We finally looked inside the nest two days ago when she’d flown away for a minute and saw there are FIVE eggs in that tiny nest!! Five eggs that literally look like blue Cadbury Mini Eggs😂.
Less than three hours later when my husband got home and looked in the nest, two of them had already hatched. So now we’re all tip-toeing around inside the house when we walk by the front door, and trying to avoid using our front door because we don’t want that little momma bird flying away for too long leaving those baby birds.
I’m not gonna lie, they’re ugly little things right now and I’m a little freaked out and feeling some major responsibility here (haha).
I was reading online and it said that most mothers don’t actually sleep in the nests. It said “picture a human baby in a crib, then imagine that baby doesn’t have a diaper, and never leaves the crib. Would you want to sleep in that crib? Most mothers clean their nests frequently, but still. . . gross.” Ewww! Of all the places that little momma bird could have built her nest, she picked the brand new wreath on my front door. I’m guessing that new wreath is going to end up in my garbage once all those baby birds are gone. . . ugh!
Anyway, enough about birds and bird poop, let’s talk food.
So many yummy things on this week’s menu plan. A couple of oldies, but goodies along with one of the the most decadent, sinful treats, my Over the Top Chex Mix. It’s a good one to take to if you’re doing a BBQ or potluck for Memorial Day.
Enjoy the long weekend and the chance to think about and remember everyone we love that’s no longer with us❤️.
