Whole Wheat Quick Bread

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 1 Loaf 1x


  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 3 Tbsp. honey or molasses
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder


  1. In a large bowl, combine egg, buttermilk, honey and melted butter.  Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder.  Stir well.
  3. Add dry mixture to wet mixture and mix well.
  4. Pour into a greased 9×5 loaf pan.
  5. Bake at 400º for about 35-45 minutes, or until lightly brown.
  6. Cool for about five minutes and then turn out onto a wire rack.
  7. Slice while still warm.
